This new prize is awarded by the French Chemical Society (SCF) and its Formulation Group to honour a researcher whose work has led to significant developments in the field of formulation.

Gordon joined the School in 1996 after 29 years in Unilever Research Port Sunlight Laboratory undertaking research into surfactant phase behaviour, providing a basis for the development of many new products. Since joining the School, Professor Tiddy has continued – more recently as Emeritus Professor - to conduct research into surfactant mesophases in areas such as liquid crystals, microemulsions, gels, soft solids/pastes and coacervates.

The award was presented to Professor Tiddy during the Formula VII conference in Mulhouse which took place from 1st – 4th July.
