Dr Nima Shokri wins prestigious soil science award
School lecturer Dr Nima Shokri was the recipient of the latest Soil Physics Early Career Award, presented by the Soil Science Society of America.
The award recognises early career scientists who have made outstanding contributions to Soil Physics within six years of completing their PhD. This international award is presented to only one individual each year and is the highest recognition for early career scientists in the soil physics community.
The award was presented to Dr Shokri following a presentation on his research during the Soil Science Society of America Annual Meeting, which took place in Minneapolis, USA in November of last year. As a result of the award, Dr Shokri will automatically become a member of the Soil Science Society of America’s Soil Physics and Hydrology Executive Committee. He will also now serve on their Early Career Award Committee alongside three other members. In the third and final year of this assignment, Dr Shokri will become the Committee Chair.
The School would like to offer our congratulations for this fantastic achievement.
