Funding opportunities for home students
Comprehensive information on funding opportunities for home students is available at the University postgraduate funding page.
Doctoral Training Account (DTA) studentships
Students from the UK and EU are able to apply for DTA studentships, funded by the School's EPSRC Doctoral Training Account, in all areas of research. Awards are based on the merit of your application against the applications of other candidates to a specific or general area of research. Funding includes fees and annual stipend (minimum £13,290) for UK students and EU students who have worked or studied in the UK for the previous 3 years, and fees-only for other EU nationals.
Applications are considered all year, but the majority of funding is allocated in June each year, once examination results are known, for projects commencing the following September. Applicants are strongly advised to submit their applications by the end of March 2012 to be considered for September 2012.
EngD Awards
EngD Awards include funding from a Research Council and Industry. Awards which are for 4 years, include tuition fees and living expenses and are normally available for UK students only. Find out about the current EngD projects on offer within our School.
Process Integration Funding Consortium
Background and Criteria – A limited number of bursaries are available for PhD students carrying out research in process integration and design. These are funded by the Process Integration Research Consortium, a multi-national group of companies. The bursary covers tuition fees and an annual living allowance of £9,000. Bursaries are awarded on merit.
Deadline – There is no official deadline as applicants are considered throughout the year. Early applications however stand a greater chance of success. Candidates must first apply for research study within the School.
