Software

The Centre for Process Integration (CPI) is dedicated to research in the field of process integration. However, unless the output from the research programme can be transferred effectively, the full potential of the techniques developed will not be realised. One of the most important mechanisms for technology transfer is computer software. At CPI, to allow effective technology transfer, software is developed by a team of full-time software professionals who work in close collaboration with the research team. This software is at the leading edge of the research in process integration.

The main packages produced are COLOM, REACTOR, REFOPT, SPRINT, STAR, WATER and WORK.

This software is at the leading edge of the research in process integration and is only available to members of the CPI Process Integration Research Consortium and selected academic institutions. Educational versions have restricted functionality and are available at a significantly reduced cost, for details please see educational prices.

The software packages cover a wide range of functions in process integration and is PC-based using Windows 1 interfaces. Each package is self-contained and makes available all of the functionality required by process designers to carry out their process integration tasks.

The Centre provides training in the use of the software to members of the Process Integration Research Consortium via a range of workshops covering different topics in process integration. User documentation is available for the software. However, in line with current trends, this is kept to a minimum and the major part of the documentation included within the software as on-line context-sensitive help text.

The software allows members of the Process Integration Consortium to use effectively the latest results from the research programme and maintain a leading edge position in process integration.
