Fresh Research for Processed Cereals
The Centre is developing grain process engineering as a new discipline that will bring fresh ideas to the cereal industries. UK and EC funded projects are performed in collaboration with cereal processing and allied companies.
Major research areas focus around three themes
- Primary cereal processing - including flour and rice milling
- Secondary cereal processing - e.g. Breadmaking and breakfast cereal production
- Novel uses of cereals - including fermentation technology applied to cereals
