The School is delighted with its involvement in new Centres for Doctoral Training which will provide funding for future generations of UK doctoral research students.
Next Generation Nuclear CDT is a partnership between the Universities of Lancaster, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester and Sheffield. Its mission is to develop the next generation of research leaders to support the UK’s present and future strategic nuclear programmes; cleaning up the nuclear legacy, building new nuclear power stations, and defence and security. A number of fully funded studentships are available for 2014 through the Next Generation Nuclear Centre for Doctoral Training.
Our School is involved in the science of 2D materials and their exploitation for fuel cells applications, novel separation techniques, production of polymer nano-composites and sensors for environmental and biomedical applications. A variety of interdisciplinary projects combining state-of-art experimental and modelling techniques are available each year.
